Lesson 1

• Introduction to tools and equipment
• Clay preparation (wedging)
• Introduction to the pottery wheel and throwing processes
• Throwing cylinders

Lesson 2

• Throwing cylinders and cups

Lesson 3

• Introduction to trimming processes

Lesson 4

• Continued throwing of cylinders and cups

Lesson 5

• Trimming of cylinders and cups

Lesson 6

• Throwing bowls

Lesson 7

• Trimming of bowls

Lesson 8

• Introduction to glazing techniques (dipping and brushing)

Course Outcomes

Learners will complete and fire up to 8 finished pieces, including:

• Cups
• Bowls
